Thousand Eye is often marketed as a Jasper, however this gem is actually marble, with a Mohs hardness of 3.5-4.5. 5-4.5. Due to the composition of this gem, there are a few tips for its care. Marble is quite soft, and therefore is easily scratched. So it is best to keep this gem with other softies, avoiding hard sharp edges. While marble is relatively okay with water, it often contains metal inclusions such as iron. With water exposure iron tends to rust, which may cause discolouration of this gem. So it is best to avoid water where possible.
